Cookie management

Korta sets no advertising, analytics or third-party cookies. Only three technical first-party cookies are used — strictly necessary or functional.

Why there is no cookie banner

These trackers are exempt from consent under article 82 of the French Data Protection Act and the CNIL guidelines of 17 September 2020 (trackers strictly necessary to provide the requested service, or interface personalization). Since no consent-requiring cookie is used, no banner is required.

The cookies we use

Name Purpose Lifetime Type
PHPSESSID Session cookie: account sign-in, chosen language, unlocking password-protected links, security. Session (deleted when the browser closes) First-party · strictly necessary
sl_theme Remember your light or dark theme. 12 months First-party · interface personalization
csrf-token_* Protects forms against CSRF attacks; set at the moment a form is submitted. A few seconds (removed after submission) First-party · strictly necessary

What about analytics?

Korta statistics work without any cookie: unique visitors are counted server-side through an anonymous fingerprint destroyed every day, as explained in the privacy policy.

Blocking or deleting these cookies

You can delete or block these cookies in your browser settings. The site will remain readable, but account sign-in, unlocking protected links and theme memory will stop working.

The CNIL explains how to control cookies browser by browser: cookies: the tools to control them.

Updates

This page is updated whenever the cookies we use change. Last updated: July 2026.
